Website Development Subgroup - Terms of Reference
1. Aim of the Subgroup
The aim of the Subgroup shall be to ensure the website is an effective tool for profiling volunteer managers, delivering services and communicating with members. This includes:
• amending/adding content;
• ensuring content is up-to-date;
• ensuring the site is accessible;
• trouble-shooting any problems;
• developing new ways of making the website more effective; and
• identifying more effective engagement methods.
2. Scope of the Subgroup
It is for the Subgroup to decide how best to deliver on its aim. Any major changes to the site, though, must be approved by the Board.
3. Membership of the Subgroup
The Subgroup shall chaired by a Director of the Association of Volunteer Managers. It can have up to eight members, all of whom must be members of the Association of Volunteer Managers, except for any specialists the Subgroup decides to involve provided that the specialists are not volunteer managers.
Members may serve for a period of up to two years. The Chair may serve for a period of up to three years. Members will be appointed by application to the Board when a vacancy arises.
A member of the Subgroup shall cease to be a member if s/he:
• reaches the end of the period of his or her appointment;
• notifies the Subgroup a wish to resign;
• is no longer a member of the Association of Volunteer Managers; or
• is removed by the Board of Directors by a 75% majority, provided that any member to be removed shall have the right to be heard by the Board of Directors
4. Proceedings of the Subgroup
It is for the Subgroup to decide how it wishes to conduct its business. However it must:
• provide an update to each Board Meeting;
• have a forum on the website that enables AVM members to feed into its work and the Subgroup to ensure the membership are kept up-to-date on its work; and
• ensure it communicate and work with the other Subgroups where there are potential overlaps.
5. Amending Terms of Reference
The Subgroup may amend these Terms of Reference upon application to the Board.
