Apparently the Government has launched a £3m volunteering fund in a bid to improve interaction between the generations. Further details from Third Sector magazine.

Capacity Builders are deconstructing themselves. What was six (hubs):

# financing voluntary and community sector activity;
# governance;
# information and communication technologies;
# performance;
# volunteering; and
# workforce development

Has after getting in a consultant become four (strategic themes):

1) Finance and Resources
2) Performance
3) People and Skills
4) Voice

There's an interesting report from the BBC Radio 4 called "Changing Charities". You can read the report's transcript here. It was about the debate that has created much controversy amongst charities for many years now: has the increasing levels of funding from Government represented a threat or an opportunity to charities.
