Volunteer Database - Quick Survey

At The Blue Cross we are currently looking at developing / buying a new volunteer database to help use manage our volunteer information. 

As part of this project we're doing a little bit of research to find out what other charities are currently using and how well it works for them.  

We've got a hold of the list of volunteer management software from the Coyote Communications webste, have looked through old UKVPMs messages, and we're also currently looking at the new volunteer2 software.

If any of you would like to get involved and share information about the database / software you currently use then please answer the questions below (I've put the Blue Cross answers in for your information)

We'd really appreciate your help and will be happy to share our conclusions with people as the project develops.

 - What product / system do you currently use?    (we have currently adapted one of our exsiting databases, CLAWS)

-  How many volunteers do you have on it?  (We have about 2,000) 

-  How long have you used it?   (a couple of years)

-  How well does it work / meet you needs?   (it captures name and address details, and has some basic report functionality but does not allow much specific volunteer management information)

-  Would you recommend it?   (no, not for volunteer management)

-  Are you considering changing it?   (Yes!)

If you would like to please add any other information you think is relevant, I would very much appreciate it. 

Of course, if you are interested, I would be more than happy to explain more about our database project, including the details of the system we finally choose once the project is complete.  Just let me know.
