The Experts in Volunteering Project plans to offer capacity building work to more 'small' London organisations that engage volunteers, or are indeed completely run by volunteers and may not be hooked up with useful local networks and VCs. One of our VC good practice partners is thinking about compiling some guidelines for outreach and working with such groups.
Not wishing to re-invent the wheel, we're wondering if guidelines already exist somewhere? Tips on what works and what doesn't?
If you don't actually have written guidelines, but would like to share useful experience, we'd welcome that, too, of course. We work specifically on good practice in volunteer management, but anything on outreach, communication, barriers would be useful.
Enjoy the weekend!
Regards,
Anne

I thought bassac had one, so went to check their website but its in the members only zone, so may be worth giving them a call? Most of the Running Sports stuff that I saw was targeted at small volunteer-led sports projects so their may be some areas of learning there (once you get through the organisational governance stuff!)
Looking forward to having you share the product with members once it is done :-)
Thanks, Nikki, will
Thanks, Nikki, will definitely look at BASSAC.
Funny how tricky it can be tracking down something you assume must be easy to find (usually clothing). There are so many resources out there - is more better, or just confusing , for a busy volunteer manager?
