Service Manager - Emergency Response

The British Red Cross is ready and able to respond in emergencies whether an individual crisis, a community incident or a national emergency.

This post offers you an exciting development opportunity within the Emergency Response field. You will be an energetic and innovative manager keen to further develop the work of the Red Cross in Emergency Response and in our Fire & Emergency Support Service. You will also support our Senior Service Manager to manage both these services. You will be involved in liaising with our external emergency planning partners and will develop new working relationships. You will be responsible for managing and motivating staff and volunteers in these services across the Thames Valley Area.

You will have excellent organisation and IT skills and an understanding of monitoring and reviewing service standards and quality. You will need to have experience of working in partnership with external organisations and a working knowledge of legislation relevant to the delivery of community services. Due to the nature of events and emergencies, some unsociable hours will be required as part of this role. You will also need to be able to travel extensively throughout the area.
