Based in Watford, The Peace Hospice, provides specialist palliative care for people living with a life limiting or terminal illness and supporting their families, across South West Hertfordshire. Volunteering Manager – 25 hours per week Salary range £17,101 - £20,242pa actual salary Over 600 volunteers work alongside paid staff in numerous roles and play a vital role in the life of the Hospice. Last year we commissioned a consultant to look at the volunteering function and how it could be improved. This new role offers the opportunity to take the lead on developing the service in line with these recommendations and professionalising the way in which we manage and develop this valued and growing workforce. The role involves providing; professional advice and support, recruitment, training, producing management reports and statistics and liaising with external organisations, as well as a range of admin. tasks. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of managing volunteers, excellent communication skills and the ability to develop, implement and maintain systems and procedures.
