New website for volunteer managers and trainers to share expertise

I just found out about this new website called Experts in Volunteering managed by Greater London Volunteering. According to their site:

Experts in Volunteering is an online database that enables GLV to act as a broker for volunteering training and expertise in Greater London.

"Experts in Volunteering" provides an opportunity to share your good practice training, fairs and events with other volunteer centres, volunteer-involving organisations and volunteers, as well as find expertise in other areas related to volunteer management currently not covered by your own organisation.

Volunteer Centres can register and share their training courses, information events, volunteer fairs, with opportunity for other people to fill empty places.

Expertise also comes in the form of individuals and Volunteer Centres can use this database to tell people about particularly good trainers or consultants they have used and their particular area of expertise.

This project is funded by Big Lottery Fund Awards for All.

It's really interesting to see this idea of skill sharing between those working in volunteer management on a local level (Greater London). We'll be following closely how this site develops.
