Volunteering Resources Officer (Peripatetic) £23,000 - £26,000 plus £3,135 London weighting London based About us Scope works with disabled people of all ages and their families throughout England and Wales. We offer practical everyday support and deliver campaigns that can, and do, change people’s lives. Our vision is a world where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. We are now in the process of a major transformation programme to help us implement a new People Plan which aims to build a strong performance culture, increase employee and volunteer engagement and develop an organisation design that makes managing people easier. Our first step has been to remodel our HR department around a number of new and influential roles. About the role We are recruiting an experienced Volunteering Resources Officer to help raise the profile and enhance the effectiveness of volunteering activities throughout Scope You’ll join a team of volunteering experts to deliver our strategy to engage more and better volunteering, in our services, retail shops and central office by inspiring, supporting and educating staff to understand the value and importance of good volunteering practice and to enhance volunteering opportunities, particularly for disabled people. Championing innovative new models for engaging volunteers, you’ll also attend external events, deliver training and help identify new business and funding opportunities. About you Your expertise in volunteering good practice and understanding of the volunteering sector means you have first-hand knowledge of motivating and managing volunteers and can research and promote a planned approach. A genuine sensitivity to the issues of disability is essential. Committed to delivering excellent customer service, you will also bring flexible mind-set, along with the ability to manage projects, communicate effectively and use the technology that will allow you to work efficiently across a large region.
