Job Description

The postholder will be responsible for:

  • recruiting new volunteers and promoting volunteering as a positive experience in which people can use their skills, education and experience in support of vulnerable debtors,
  • providing advice to and acting as a McKenzie Friend for vulnerable debtors in London who face court proceedings for debt from statutory authorities and fines and supporting volunteers who are also doing that work.

 

  • Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer
  • Responsible for Volunteers supporting the work of Z2K in the London region and the provision of advice and support to volunteers out of London.
  • Salary range  - £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
  • Hours of work - 37.5 hours per week
  • Holidays  - 28 days including bank holidays
  • Work location -Based in our office at 34 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0DH
  • Commencement - March / April 2010


Purpose of the post

The purpose of this role is to help recruit new volunteers to support those on low incomes to deal with court proceedings, as well as to co-ordinate, maintain and develop training and support for all existing volunteers who play a key part in the provision of Z2K's services. The role is also to help to carry out casework which is not suitable for volunteers and to work with and support volunteers working on cases in London or volunteers who are operating through organisations that we have trained outside London.
