Scope's mission is to drive the change to make our society the first where disabled people achieve equality. Scope has 10,000 volunteers, 12% of whom are disabled people. The development of volunteering is fundamental to Scope and with achieving our mission.
Head of Volunteering Strategy (maternity cover, up to 12 months)Up to 30 hours per week£40,000 (pro rata, plus ILW)
This position leads a team of staff and volunteers to ensure that volunteering across Scope is within policy. The Volunteering Strategy team develops, promotes and enables a high standard of managing volunteers across Scope, through the provision of advice, training and challenging practice.
Disabled people are currently under-represented in volunteering across the sector and this role campaigns and leads the sector championing for a more inclusive approach to volunteering, whilst ensuring that Scope practices what it preaches.
To support this work, the successful candidate will have significant experience of volunteer management, knowledge of the volunteering sector, a commitment to combating disablism, the ability to fundraise to extend the work and a proven track record in effective staff, change and project management.
