As our name suggests, Action for Children is a charity that actively supports 200,000 of the UK's most vulnerable children. Our work is varied. Its effects are far-reaching. And we always try to be there for the children and young people who need us most.
We are looking for two dynamic Volunteering Development Officers, to work across the North of England and South of England respectively. The volunteering services developed by these posts will recruit and support volunteers to help children and young people, through a variety of roles including mentors, play session helpers, and group facilitators, particularly relating to our larger contracts such as Children's Centres.
The Volunteering Development Officers will support staff to recruit and retain volunteers, and work closely with staff, children and young people, and parents and carers to ensure that those volunteers help service users achieve their full potential.
