Job Opportunity for a Volunteer Co-ordination Manager - no Office, no 9-5!

 

Cool2Care is a new and highly innovative Social Enterprise, founded by a father of a disabled boy, determined to improve the lives of thousands of disabled children and their families across the UK.  Cool2Care operates a unique service of recruiting, training and placing care-workers and personal assistants to work with families of disabled children and young people with all types of disability, including physical, learning and behavioural conditions.

 

We are seeking a Volunteer Co-ordinator for our Telford and Wrekin-based team to:

  • assist with volunteer recruitment and selection
  • assist with identification and implementation of training for volunteers
  • assist with daily supervision, assessment and monitoring of volunteers
  • co-ordinate volunteer availability and deployment
  • maintain adequate records and update administration systems
  • manage effective communication amongst volunteers
  • ensure that volunteers adhere to Cool2Care policies and procedures
  • assist with external presentations to ensure the maintenance of a high profile service within the Local Authority and promotion of Cool2Care mission

 

It is essential for applicants to possess the following skills and experience:

  • minimum GCSE qualification
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • experience in co-ordinating and leading teams
  • ability to think creatively, mediate and act upon initiatives
  • experience in a customer facing environment
  • ICT literate - MS Windows, Internet, mobile phone, SMS texting etc.
  • ability to work to deadlines
  • the ability to process and deal with confidential and sensitive information
  • the drive and determine to deliver results against business targets
  • the ability to work effectively and autonomously in a start-up organisation
  • the ability to direct and lead a team of people
  • a driving licence

 

It is desirable for applicants have previous experience of working in a Social Enterprise role or familiarity with social care, disability or childcare sectors.

 

Location:     Working from home in the Telford & Wrekin area, with regular travel to attend meetings locally and further a field, as required and occasional weekend or evening work.

Hours:         15 hours per week, worked flexibly

Salary:        Circa £22,000 p.a. pro rata

Start Date:  February 2010
