In 2006 the network of volunteer bureaux (VBs) and Volunteer Centres (VCs) in Nottinghamshire came together to form “Volunteering Nottinghamshire”, a county wide consortium of district based Volunteer Centres which operate in the City of Nottingham and the county of Nottinghamshire. The organisation is a limited company (No. 5919211) and employs two full time countywide staff – a Partnerships Development Officer and an Older Persons Volunteering Development Officer - to support volunteering and the existing district based volunteering infrastructure across the county.

A vacancy now exists for the Partnership Development Officer post.

Salary: SO1 - £23,175 pa (pay award pending)
Hours: 37 per week. Job share or secondment considered if full time hours can be met.
Duration: May 31st 2009

Volunteering Nottinghamshire is the lead body responsible, with a wide range of partners, for achieving a significant increase in volunteering across Nottinghamshire as part of the Local Area Agreement (LAA).

The purpose of this post is to play a key role in driving forward the development and future role of Volunteering Nottinghamshire in order to achieve the targets set in the Local Area Agreement by 2009. The person appointed will be responsible to the Board of Trustees and will help to maintain and develop a Volunteering Development Council to promote and develop volunteering in Nottinghamshire. The ideal candidate will have experience of the voluntary sector and an understanding of the issues and challenges facing volunteers and volunteering involving organisations.
