Head of Volunteering - Guide Dogs for the Blind (closing date 30 January)

£50000 plus Car / Allowance and comprehensive benefits including Final Salary Pension

Location: Berkshire with some UK travel / Flexibility to work from home

The ability of Guide Dogs’ to effectively recruit, retain, support, motivate and recognise our 10,000+ volunteers will be critical in ensuring we meet the needs of both our valued volunteers and the strategic aims of the Association. To enable Guide Dogs to be a volunteers’ organisation of choice, we have been undertaking a root and branch review of all aspects of volunteering. We now need to appoint a Head of Volunteering who can take the recommendations from the review and make them happen in practice.  In addition to this challenging and high profile change programme, you will also play a key role in the management of the organisation as a whole through your membership of the Senior Management Group.

Our ideal candidate will have the credibility and influencing skills needed to operate at a national level, underpinned by extensive knowledge of the sector and its current innovations and challenges. You will be a skilled communicator, able to demonstrate a track record of developing and successfully implementing volunteer strategies and policies. Above all, we are looking for someone who can share our passion for Guide Dogs and is motivated to take on this stretching and high profile role.
