Can students be good citizens? Dr Richard Tyler
Dr Richard Tyler, Co-ordinator, National Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) takes the audience through three levels of citizenship, before highlighting why making a real impact on society is difficult for students. Dr Tyler talks about the transient and temporary nature of students as a population in a community. Students as anti-citizens is proposed as a more accurate description of some students who have led to the studentification of areas within university towns.
