The National Autistic Society is the UK’s leading charity for people affected by autism. We provide a wide range of advice, information, support and specialist services to 100,000 people each year, and campaign and lobby for lasting positive change for the half a million people in the UK with autism.
We are looking for a Befriending Manager to facilitate and support our successful befriending scheme in Nottinghamshire.
The NAS Befriending Scheme is UK wide, involving and co-ordinating
volunteers who offer support to people with autism spectrum disorders and their families and carers. This post is part of the Regional Co-ordination team for East and West Midlands and is accountable to the Regional Officer.
Self motivation and excellent planning skills are essential to this role, along with experience in delivering training, working with volunteers and supporting people with a disability, particularly people with an autism spectrum disorder. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills are also required.
The post demands flexible work patterns with some unsociable hours
and the ability to travel in the area.
