Sharing our skills

Would you be prepared to share your skills and experience with fellow volunteer managers from across England? In return, you get the opportunity to find out more about your peers who are willing to share theirs.

From admin expertise such as drafting a volunteer policy from scratch to honing your recruitment skills, from running a training session to conducting research, it'd be great to share. After all, someone could benefit from what you know, just as you could benefit from what others know.

Of course, sharing skills with peers already happens a lot, but we'd like to see if we can't help make this just a tad easier. Each AVM member has the opportunity to detail the skills and experience they'd like to share in their user profile. This information in turn is only viewable by other AVM members.

Just how you share your skills and experience is totally down to you. You might like to do it by discussing it on our specially designated forum for skill sharing accessible only by AVM members. You might like to do it over the phone or even arranging to meet up. You can update you skills page or delete the information on there as you need or wish.

You may also wish to share you skills and knowledge on specific areas of volunteer management by getting involved in the discussion pages of articles on our wiki here.
